so this year we’re finally beginning to use cad stuff for our archi projects.
I know how to use autocad, archicad and artlantis
But the thing is sometimes I like to go Gehry or Hadid style and do crazy stuff, and that’s pretty hard to draw on stuff like archicad!! and it’s almost impossible to have 3d models on autocad so… what do you sugget?

rhino and maya are what zaha uses afaik.

Major studios use 3ds Max/Maya for developing the curvy shapes, then export to CAD/Revit for documentation. SketchUp is cheaper for students.

cinema 4d, 3d studio max, maya. animation programs all. A lot of architects use them.

I know a few people who worked for Hadid, and they primarily used Rhino. It was built specifically to handle complex curves.

3ds/rhino then export to your choice of CAD program

look into using programs like 3dsmx/rhino and import files into BIM programs like revit or archicad that you can update.

sketchup is brilliant! it’s free and easy to use. and 3ds max is meant to be used for that stuff but i find it hard to use

Rhino! It’s really good for 3D things, and so easy to use! 3D max is also good, but I feel rhino has similar commands to autocad.

i’m not used to use programs because our teachers insist on drawing but try to see if rhino helps in anything..
